English Translation of a Press Release Announcing a Strategic Partnership and an émission d’obligations convertibles
17 June 2025 - News
We were recently commissioned to translate from French into English an official press release published by a French agri-food company, on the occasion of the signing of a strategic partnership with a U.S. group specialized in natural colorants.
🤝 A structuring technological and financial partnership
The press release announced:
the implementation of a plan de développement pluriannuel (multi-year development plan),
the émission d’obligations convertibles assorties de bons de souscription d’actions (convertible bonds with attached warrants),
a attribution gratuite de bons de souscription (free grant of warrants),
and the activation of a ligne de financement en fonds propres (equity line of financing).
These operations aimed to accelerate the industrial rollout of an innovative portfolio of colorants alimentaires naturels, while supporting R&D efforts and patent protection.
📑 A translation balancing financial accuracy and institutional readability
Translating a press release for the markets requires:
The equivalent is convertible bonds with attached warrants. It conveys both the convertible bond and the warrants tied to it, keeping the two instruments distinct while reflecting the single financing package the release announces.
It calls for rigorous financial terminology, exact consistency of technical data (exercise price, new shares, potential dilution), and clarity for an international readership of investors, industrial partners, and analysts.
It renders ligne de financement en fonds propres, a facility allowing the issuer to raise equity capital progressively. Precise wording prevents confusion with conventional debt financing and signals the equity nature of the arrangement.
Because the release concerns a market operation, any discrepancy in the exercise and conversion price or in stockholders' equity per share could mislead investors and distort their reading of the potential dilution.
