A Strategic Document with Social and Organizational Impact
We recently translated from French into English a CSE information-consultation document (Comité Social et Économique) for a French company in the automotive sector, as part of a merger project between two European industrial groups.
The document’s purpose was to explain to employee representatives:
-
the strategic rationale for the rapprochement (business combination),
-
a presentation of both groups (activities, locations, headcount, financial results),
-
the key aspects of the merger (governance, shareholding structure, creation of the société faîtière / parent company).
A significant section was dedicated to the social consequences—both collective and individual—together with the planned project timeline.
🎯 The challenge: to faithfully render a document at the crossroads of labour law, corporate law, and financial communication, while ensuring clarity and precision for a readership not exclusively legal.
A Translation Sensitive to Both Technical and Human Dimensions
One of the main challenges was the diversity of registers within a single document:
-
technical: economic performance indicators,
-
neutral and factual: description of the merger project,
-
prudent and cautious: foreseeable social impacts.
The translation was delivered in professional and accessible English, aligned with the standards of listed companies.
