French Translation of the Annual Report of a Dutch Subsidiary of a French Banking Group

30 June 2026 - News

We were recently asked to translate from English into French the annual report of a Dutch subsidiary of a French banking group, active in particular in the consumer credit market.

A Document Both Regulatory, Strategic, and Technical

The report included several key sections:

  • the company profile,

  • the reports of the managing board and the supervisory board,

  • the financial statements for the closed fiscal year, with accompanying notes to the balance sheet and profit and loss statement,

  • the proposed appropriation of results,

  • and the report of the independent auditor.

The whole had to reflect governance consistent with international standards in risk management, bank accounting, and corporate governance. These obligations echo those the French Commercial Code imposes on listed groups regarding accounts and financial disclosure.

A Translation Combining Institutional Rigor and Readability

This type of project requires:

  • strong expertise in IFRS and Dutch accounting standards,

  • smooth and technically accurate rendering of concepts such as trigger events,

  • and the ability to produce a document fully compliant with the expectations of listed groups, while remaining clear for both internal and external stakeholders.

The same corporate-governance stakes recur across other projects, from the translation of a strategic letter to the board to shareholder disputes brought before the courts, such as the translation of an interim relief order.
